Eucharistic Ministry

The Ministry of the distribution of communion is an important one in the life of the parish. The ministers undergo a formation programme and are initially commissioned by the Archdiocese. Each year they are commissioned for service by the parish on or around the feast of Corpus Christi.

The ministers serve the parish in two ways:

By helping in the liturgy and ensuring that distribution of communion takes place with reverence and care.
By taking communion to the sick and the housebound whenever convenient for all concerned.

Ideally this will take place at Mass and ministers will leave with the blessing of the gathered community.
