Welcome Ministry

As Christian we are called to be a welcoming community. Jesus welcomed all, especially those who were shunned by others. He continues to welcome us as we gather togethere to celebrate our faith. It is the ministry of all of us, by virtue of our baptism, to be this welcoming presence when people come to Mass.

For many people the first impression of St. Mary's parish is the cheery greeting of the volunteer members of the Welcoming Ministry. They pass out the weekly bulletin before Mass. They must be prepared to answer the many questions asked of them from people visiting the church or even walking by. Whenever possible they work to make each member part of the parish family.
