Anointing of the Sick
Sacrament of Healing
"Among the seven Sacraments there is one especially intended to strengthen those who are being tried by illness, the Anointing of the Sick."

CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH
Anointing of the Sick
When the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is given, the hope is that the person be physically healed, God willing. However, even if there isn't any medical recovery, the Sacrament's main effect is a spiritual one in which the sick person is given the Holy Spirit's gift of peace and courage to deal with the challenges that come with serious sickness or the frailty of old age.

Any person who is sick or in advanced years may receive the Sacrament of the Sick. It is a great comfort both to the sick person and to all those who share in the celebration. You are asked to contact the Parish Priest in good time so that the celebration of this Sacrament may be duly arranged.
