Redemptorist Clergy

St Mary's has been proudly served by the Redemptorists since 1851.

Parish Priest

Fr Casper Mukabva  CSsR Redemptorist

Email Address: clapham@rcaos.org.uk

Let me begin by introducing myself. My name is Fr Casper Simba Mukabva C.Ss.R. I am a member of The Redemptorists London Province.

I studied and worked in Zimbabwe before moving to the Clapham Community. I was born and bred in Zimbabwe and I am from the Manicaland Province, which is to the East of the capital city Harare Zimbabwe.

Before joining the Province here in London I worked in different places and positions including Parish Priest of our fairly new place called Chiweshe which is a rural Parish, this was an experience which was quite edifying.

Being a Parish Priest here at Our Immaculate Lady of Victories (St Mary’s Clapham) is intriguing. I am surrounded by a great community, by people with amazing characters and by people with beautiful and generous hearts. I have come to note that the community is also a very prayerful and happy community. I love it here. It has been an experience of growth at every step in my ministry to date. You are always in my prayers and thoughts. May God in his richness and mercy, bless you and your loved ones abundantly.

Assistant Parish Priest

Fr Peter Morris CSsR Redemptorist

Email Address: clapham@rcaos.org.uk

Fr. Peter Morris, C.Ss.R., 31, was ordained to the priesthood in St. Mary's Cathedral, Aberdeen on Monday 26th October 2015.

The young priest is a former seminarian for the Diocese of Aberdeen but discerned the call to religious life in the Redemptorists while at Scotus College, the then-only seminary on Scottish soil.

Fr. Peter was attracted to the preaching charism and community life of the Redemptorists and soon came to learn of their founder St. Alphonsus Liguori. “St. Alphonsus is a great example of a priest ablaze with love for those placed in his care. In fact, I see a lot of similarities between his and Pope Francis' writings.”

The day was made even more special by the fact that Fr. Peter was ordained by Bishop Ralph Heskett, C.Ss.R., the Redemptorist who was his first superior when he entered the Congregation, now the Bishop of the Diocese of Hallam.

Fr. Peter has returned to London as curate of the parish the Redemptorists serve in St Mary's Clapham. “I've got a lot to learn from the parish. There's plenty of work ahead and I'm looking forward to getting stuck in!”
