Safeguarding

Safeguarding

Through the prayerful, supportive, nurturing, and protective endeavours of the Catholic community, St Mary's seeks to promote a culture of safeguarding where all are safe from harm and abuse and where every person is encouraged and enabled to enjoy the fullness of life in Jesus Christ.

This is done by offering properly thought-out activities to children, young people, and adults, by caring for individuals harmed by abuse, and by ministering to and firmly controlling those that have caused harm.

St Mary's adheres to and complies with the national safeguarding guidelines established by the Catholic Safeguarding Standards Agency (CSSA).

Please get in touch with our parish safeguarding representative (Rachel Duncan   Email: claphamsg1@safeguardrcaos.org.uk) or via the Parish office, if you have any questions about safeguarding, or are worried about a child or adult that may be in danger.  Alternatively, you may directly contact the Archdiocese of Southwark Safeguarding Team.

Please phone 999 to alert the police if you think a child or vulnerable adult is in immediate danger.
